SEATTLE, WA – This year’s Cornish Music Series concludes with a recital of electro-acoustic works by faculty member John Burrow. The performance will feature the premiere of You Won’t
Have This Avatar of Vishnu to Kick Around Anymore, a light-hearted alternative ending to the great Hindu epic the Ramayana, for voices, electronics, and rhythm section. The program will feature works such as Intro (Boogie Shoes), One-liner Medley, and FFTbone. In addition, clarinetist Beth Fleenor will remount the 2004 Burrow commission Tennessee Mermaid for solo improvised clarinet and processing.

About the Performers
John Burrow is a composer of electro-acoustic and instrumental music for film, video, dance and installation. Burrow originally studied music at the University of Hawaii, and then completed his degree in jazz piano at Cornish (B.F.A., 1990). He is currently a faculty member at Cornish College of the Arts, as well as holding the position of music technical director. He also keeps himself busy as an audio recording engineer of music spanning multiple genres. He will be featured on voice, keyboards and electronics.

Eli Clark (trombone), Greg Larson (trombone), Beth Fleenor (clarinet), Dawn Clement (voice, keyboards, electronics), Chuck Deardorf (bass), and Brad Gibson (drums and percussion).
