Cornish President Nancy Uscher can be heard on Musical Chairs, Classical KING FM 98.1, on August 1 at 7 p.m.
Each week, Musical Chairs features a different guest from the Northwest Arts scene. The selected guest joins co-host Mike Brooks to share favorite classical works in a show described by the station as “fascinating people sharing great music.” As a musician herself, Dr. Uscher was delighted to share some personal stories about her selections.
For over two decades, Dr. Uscher traveled the globe as a concert violist and teacher, performing in many festivals and ensembles, including the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the American Composers Orchestra, the Brandenburg Ensemble and the Casals Festival Orchestra in Puerto Rico. She also has written dozens of articles on music, and two books: Your Own Way in Music: A Career and Resource Guide and The Schirmer Guide to Schools of Music and Conservatories Throughout the World.
Even if you’re not in Seattle, you can hear Dr. Uscher on KING FM or learn more about this program through their website: http://www.king.org.
