Jenifer Ward Named Provost and Dean of Centenary College

Jenifer K. Ward, Ph.D., Dean of the College at Cornish College of the Arts, has been named Provost and Dean of the College at Centenary College of Louisiana, located in Shreveport. Centenary College of Louisiana is a Tier 1 Liberal Arts College and is a member of the Associated Colleges of the South. Dr. Ward will assume her new position on July 1.
“I look forward to hearing about the exciting evolution of Cornish,” said Jenifer Ward, “it has been a fantastic experience for me to serve this great college and I will leave with many enduring friendships and deep affection for Cornish.”
“I am tremendously proud of Dr. Ward’s contributions to Cornish,” said Cornish President Nancy J. Uscher. “During her tenure she was instrumental to the creation and development of many initiatives, including the development of Summer at Cornish, the College’s pre-college education program, and the Neddy at Cornish, the annual artist award program supported by the Behnke Foundation in honor of Robert E. (Ned) Behnke. Both of these programs have elevated the stature of Cornish.”
Dr. Ward joined Cornish in July 2007 as Associate Provost. She served as Interim Provost for a portion of the 2012-13 academic year and has served as Dean of the College since July 2013.
Dr. Ward’s final day at Cornish is March 14.
