Filling galleries in multiple buildings at Cornish College of the Arts’ downtown Seattle campus, the BFA Exhibition 2018 features works from all graduating seniors in Cornish’s visual arts programs.
As is typical at Cornish, the BFA Exhibition 2018 is highly diverse with new work reflecting the themes and techniques of the contemporary visual landscape.
In Art and Design, the works presented in the exhibition ambitiously explore a wide variety of techniques and approaches, displaying a rich breadth and depth in vision. The students’ work features painting, print, performance, photography, digital media, video, sculpture, writing, and UX design.
Interior Architecture students have dived deep into social and civic challenges that they can address with their human centered process. Look for displays featuring object design, self-sufficient systems to address needs in rural Bolivia, and ways to revitalize de-industrialized communities in the Midwest.
For the first time, Film will be presenting two screenings of shorts at Raisbeck Hall’s Skinner Theater. These short films explore the mind and memory, identity and relationships, mystery, and nature. Expect the unexpected.
The BFA Exhibition 2018 is held in Beebe Building (Design, Interior Architecture), Centennial Lab (Art), and Raisbeck Hall’s Skinner Theater (Film) in Cornish’s South Lake Union campus. Examples of the participating seniors’ work can be seen at:
