Alumni in the News (4.23.14): NW Latino Auditions, Musicals, and Skankin’ Madness

This week we’ve got some great news on the musical theater front, a Seattle Times article on Latino theater in the NW, and a Cornish artist on the cover of The Stranger.
The Seattle Times reports on first annual Northwest Latino Regional Theatre Auditions; organized by alumna and eSe Teatro artistic director Rose Cano ( TH ’83), senior Xochitl Portillo-Moody (TH ’14) among those who auditioned.
The 30th Annual Helen Hayes Awards have been announced in Washington, D.C; Diana Huey (TH ’08) tied for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Resident Musical for her role as Kim in Signature Theatre’s production of Miss Saigon.
Don Darryl Rivera (TH ’06) and the rest of the cast of Aladdin appear on Good Morning America. Take a look at this clip.

Brian Snider (TH ’06), founder and editor of Northwest music website Secretly-Important.com, announces the creation of the first Secretly-Important.com album, TIDES, a compilation of 10 different Northwest bands including Caety Sagoian (TH ’06), with cover art by 2012 Neddy at Cornish winner Stacey Rozich.
