Music Professor Jim Knapp Inducted into the Seattle Jazz Hall of Fame
Cornish College of the Arts Music Professor Jim Knapp was inducted into the Seattle Jazz Hall of Fame at The Earshot Jazz Golden Ear Awards on Monday, January 29, 2007 at Experience Music Project's Sky Church. Jazz radio station, KPLU 88.5 FM NPR was the other recipient - the first time an institution has ever been nominated for that distinction.
Since 1990, the Earshot Jazz Golden Ear Awards has brought together Seattle's top jazz artists and fans to recognize significant accomplishments during the previous year in performance and recording, and to induct two people into the Seattle Jazz Hall of Fame. A nominating committee is formed each year to develop a list of honorees and then by popular vote, two recipients are chosen.
