Art Faculty Member Featured in the Microsoft Artist Lecture Series
Cornish Art Department Professor, Ruth Marie Tomlinson, will speak in the Microsoft Artist Lecture Series on Thursday, September 14th. Tomlinson's work utilizes repetitive processes to exercise her interests in systems, for cataloging and for restructuring. A graduate of Evergreen State College with an MFA from the University of Washington, Tomlinson joined the faculty at Cornish in 2005.
Since 1999, Microsoft employees, their guests, and members of the local community have met and listened to local, national and internationally recognized artists and professionals from the contemporary art world speak about their work in this popular monthly program. From September through April, lively discussions focus on an artist's career, techniques, anecdotes, issues addressed and expressed through art and topical subjects in the visual arts.
