Event Summary

Grand-prize winner at the 2009 Seattle International Piano Competition Ilia Radoslavov returns to Seattle to present a masterclass for Cornish piano students.


A native of Bulgaria, pianist Ilia Radoslavov obtained his Doctoral Degree in Piano Performance as a Paul Collins Distinguished Graduate Fellow, an award celebrating outstanding performing ability and musicianship, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, under the guidance of Christopher Taylor. He has also studied with world-renowned Leon Fleisher, Richard Goode, and Ann Shein. Most recently, Radoslavov has been a first-prize winner in the 2010 American Protégé International Competition and was the gold medalist in the 2009 Seattle International Piano Competition. His list of recognitions includes first prizes from the Saint Louis Artist Presentation Society, the UW-Madison Concerto Competition, the UW-Madison Beethoven Piano Competition, the National Mozart Competition, Sofia, Bulgaria, and the Svetoslav Obretenov Piano Competition, Bulgaria, along with awards from the Web Concert Hall International Competition, the Missouri International Piano Competition, and the Hague International Piano Competition. He has appeared as soloist with the University of Wisconsin – Madison Symphony Orchestra, the State Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra, Sofia, Bulgaria, and the Ruse Symphony Orchestra, Ruse, Bulgaria. Radoslavov’s teaching career ranges widely and encompasses applied piano, chamber music, accompanying, and class piano. At present, he is on the piano faculty of Truman State University.
