Rachel Deshon
Rachel DeShon graduated with a BFA cum laude in Vocal Performance and Music Theatre from Western Illinois University. A Seattle native, DeShon was the 2001 winner of Marvin Hamlisch’s Search for a Star competition with the Seattle Symphony. She has subsequently performed with Mr. Hamlisch both nationally and internationally. DeShon has also performed with the Boston POPS! under the direction of Keith Lockhart and at the Esplanade Concert Hall in Singapore. Locally, she has been a recurring cast member with Teatro ZinZanni. Her awards include the Encouragement Award for the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the Seattle Civic Opera Guild Helen Jensen Award, the City Opera Company Young Opera Singers Competition, and first place awards in state competitions in Washington and Illinois. DeShon is Founder and Director of The Lamb Project, an Imaginative Arts Development Production Company powered by Shunpike.
