American–born guitarist Marcos Carmona is Artistic Director of Carmona Flamenco, the Pacific Northwest’s premier flamenco group and Executive Director of Flamenco Arts Northwest, a non–profit organization for the promotion of flamenco music and dance. Sr. Carmona was studio guitarist for Seville’s Matilde Coral and Madrid’s El Ciro and La Tati. He has performed throughout southern Spain including performances with such luminaries as Carmen Montoya, El Farruco and Manuel Molina. After many years in Los Angeles as house guitarist for Hollywood’s Ed Cid Flamenco Club and numerous concerts, including an appearance with Paco de Lucía at the Los Angeles Music Center, he relocated to Seattle and has been performing and teaching in the Pacific Northwest since.
