An interdisciplinary conversation looking at the legacies of Merce Cunningham, John Cage and Yves Klein with Seattle artists Catherine Cabeen, Tonya Lockyer and Jarrad Powell.
In the Post-war period, Yves Klein, John Cage, and Merce Cunningham reconsidered the perceived boundaries between art and life; redefining music, dance, art and performance in the process. How do their ideas and experiments hold value for us today? In this interdisciplinary conversation Catherine Cabeen, Jarrad Powell and Tonya Lockyer share their current creative research, framing their work in relation to the revolutionary legacies of Klein, Cage & Cunningham.
