Information Technology Coordinator 2 - Helpdesk

Department: Information Technology
Reports to: Director of Information Technology
Supervises: Work study students
Pay Grade: D, Non-exempt; Full-time

Purpose:

Assists the Director of Information Technology with maintaining, operating, and supporting the College's computer systems and networks, and is responsible for helpdesk support.


Responsibilities:

1. Manages the helpdesk function including:

  • primary contact for helpdesk questions
  • analyzing and troubleshooting computer problems
  • coordinating computer maintenance
  • installing upgrades

2. Provides network administration support over multiple campuses; set-up network accounts, troubleshoot and resolve network problems, etc.
3. Assists in the acquisition, inventory, and installation of all equipment and computer supplies.
4. Documents Processes and Policies
5. Assists the Director of IT in budget management including:

  • basic forecasting of all future computer systems/equipment
  • tracking purchases and payments
  • providing Director of IT with monthly reports and projections

6. Sets up AV/Computer presentations as needed for staff, faculty, and students.
7. Supervises work study students including:

  • hiring and scheduling work study students
  • maintaining work study documentation and budget
  • assigning daily tasks

8. Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree plus two years related experience 
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of PCs and Macintosh hardware and Operating Systems
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Technical Writing experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse campus population 
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Must pass background check 
  • Washington Driver's License and safe driving record
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Windows 2003/8 Server experience
  • Experience in an academic, not-for-profit, or arts setting
