Carolyn Hall
Adjunct Instructor
Carolyn Hall joined the Integrated Studies faculty at Cornish College of the Arts in 2008. She also teaches creative writing and book design an Antioch University, Seattle. She taught for many years in The Seattle Public Schools, where she was awarded the 1985 Excellence in Education Award. She also freelances as an independent consultant and editor for fiction writers. Carolyn earned a BA degree in Liberal Arts from The Evergreen State College. She completed her MA in Human Development/Education at Pacific Oaks College. She has studied art and writing at The University of Washington, Cornish, The Factory of Visual Arts, Pratt, and poetry at New Castle University, UK. She has published poetry, non-fiction and short fiction in Calyx Journal, The Seattle Sun, and the Cooper Point Journal. She has completed two novels and is working on her third and fourth. She has been involved in spoken word performance and implemented the writers’ spoken word/open mic nights at Antioch University. Carolyn is an artist whose current interests are in book design, jewelry creation and trash fashion. She uses repurposed and vintage finds to create narrative jewelry. She is currently excited and involved with trash fashion design. Her designs were featured at The Intiman Theater’s fashion runway show, The Next Fifty, summer, 2012.
