The Office of Financial Aid will notify you if you have been selected for review in the process called Verification. What is Verification and why was I selected? Approximately one-third of all student aid applications are selected for verification by the Department of Education

To complete the process, provide the following documentation to the Office of Financial Aid:

  1. Signed and dated Verification Worksheet with all sections completed.
  2. Signed and dated copies of 2006 US tax returns, W2's, and all applicable schedules for:
    • yourself
    • your parents, if you are a dependent student
    • your spouse, if you were married at the time of filing your FAFSA
Please check the IRS Chart A - Do You Have to File?
  3. Signed and dated copies of all untaxed benefit documents for a list of all possible untaxed benefits (sign and date anywhere on the copies) - see FAFSA Worksheets A, B and C.
  4. If you or one of the relevant persons in number 3 above will not be filing a 2006 US tax return, please complete the Non-filer Statement. Additionally, non-filers may be asked to submit to the Office of Financial Aid in August, a copy of their Free Tax Transcript 2006 (see directions below).
NOTE: The Office of Financial Aid may request additional information regarding your support in 2006. If required by the Office of Financial Aid, please complete the Resource Form.
