Super Strings is a week of string fun for ages 11 to 17, starting with classical chamber music mornings, and then rock and electric string playing, fiddle, eurythmics and improvisation in the afternoon with bass guitar lessons for the whole camp. This summer we are adding Beat Boxing!

Classical music coaches include Cornish faculty and Pacific Northwest Ballet Concertmaster Michael Jinsoo Lim, Mara Gearman, violist from the Seattle Symphony, Annie Center, violist and renowned chamber musician, Sara Pizzichemi, violinist and founder of the Skyros Quartet, Paige Stockley, Cornish cello faculty and founder of the St. Helens String Quartet, and Steve Schermer, bass player for the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra. Afternoon faculty will be Mitchell Drury, violinist, arranger and member of the Steam Punk band, Abney Park, Paris Hurley, rock violinist for the band Kultur Shock, Brandon Vance, national Scottish Fiddle Champion, and Kathy Moore, renowned Seattle rock guitarist, and early music specialist Jessica Korotkin from Oberlin Conservatory. No experience is necessary for the rock, fiddle and improv classes of the camp and mornings will be filled with the classics from Dvorak to Bach to Mozart.
