The Mary Alice Cooley Print Collection contains over two-hundred original prints, accumulated over twenty years, and shows the quality and diversity of work produced by students at Cornish College of the Arts. The collection is named for the late Mary Alice Cooley, a former print art student and a graduate of Cornish College of the Arts. Inspired by her interest in art and by her dauntless courage, the Richard Cooley family and friends established a memorial fund in her name, which has been used to support, catalog, and archive this collection.
Kathleen Rabel and John Overton, Print Art faculty, select a specific work of merit for the collection and the student is invited to contribute the print to the collection. This growing collection is integral to the Print Art curriculum for study and research and works from this collection are available to museums, schools and arts organizations for exhibition. The collection’s value increases as our alumni distinguish themselves as they continue their professional careers.
