On March 25, 2011, Cornish’s Black Student Union hosted I AM: A Celebration of Black History. The lively and creative varieties of celebration included performances of live music, poetry, dance and guest speakers from the community, faculty, and peer students, and took place in Nellie’s Cafe. BSU collected a donation of non perishable food items, toiletries, and new or gently used clothing, to be given to local non-profits YouthCare, Treehouse, and Alleycat Acres.
BSU is a Student Interest Group sponsored and organized by student leadership, and their mission is to create a safe place for students to engage in culture and self identity, encouraging artistic expression and cultural awareness.
