Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters Degree in Interior Design from Pratt Institute. While in New York City, Stephanie became a licensed architect and worked for the offices of HOK, Beyer Blinder Belle, and Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer. In addition to working as an architect, Stephanie taught drawing to undergraduate and graduate students for 10 years at Parsons School of Design in both the Environmental Design/Architecture and Interior Design departments. In NYC, she started a free-lance rendering practice and worked for many architecture and interior design firms in the region.

In 1995 she moved to Seattle and opened the office of Stephanie Bower, Architectural Illustration, providing architecture/interior/landscape renderings and concept design to numerous firms, including Olson Kundig, MITHUN, ZGF, Callison, and Jones & Jones. Stephanie continued to teach drawing at the University of Washington with Frank Ching and at Cornish, as well as providing drawing workshops to architectural offices. Stephanie was a 2012 finalist for the Gabriel Prize, and her watercolor paintings can be seen in two 2012 Northwest Watercolor Society juried exhibitions. She is also a member of the Northwest Watercolor Society and is a blog correspondent for Seattle Urban Sketchers. Stephanie won the international 2012 KRob Delineation Competition in the travel sketch category and hopes to offer drawing and perspective workshops abroad.
