Myers Named Educator of the Year
Citing contributions to interior design education at every level, the Washington State Chapter of the ASID names Cornish Prof Julie Myers Educator of the Year.
Cornish faculty member Julie Myers, associate professor of design, has been named 2012 Educator of the Year by the Washington chapter of American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). She was cited for “an abundant history of design from education at every level to large scale projects for prominent clientele. Bringing her storied experience into the classroom she is fighting for the future of design in higher education.”
Julie holds a MFA and BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Additional studies include: Parsons School of Design, Whitney Museum of American Art (with Alex Katz, Bill Viola, Nam June-Paik, Joel Shapiro, Susan Rothenberg, and more), Cooper Hewitt Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and Graham Foundation Studies.
