Summer Dance 2009

Cornish Summer Dance has been offering open classes to the public for over 20 years. Seattle’s premiere arts institution offers classes for college credit and encourages visiting students to attend afternoon workshops designed by our esteemed faculty. Auditions are not required, but senior level classes assume students have studied at the intermediate or advanced level. For placement questions, please contact the Summer Dance office by emailing or calling 206.726.5090.

Location:
All dance classes will be held in Kerry Hall at 710 E Roy Street. Dance Studios are located on the 3rd floor of Kerry Hall. New students should check in with the cashier located in room 305.

Registration:
To register please print out the registration form and mail it to:

Drop in students may pre-pay for classes by using the registration form and calculating the number of classes they will attend, or visit the cashier located in room 305 at Kerry Hall and purchase a daily pass when they arrive.

You must be registered for Workshops in advance and full participation is required. Please check deadlines.

Placement:
Placement classes can be scheduled prior to the program by contacting the Summer Dance office. All students will be assessed during their first summer class to ensure proper placement.

Session 1 Senior division: June 22 - July 2 (2 weeks)
ballet/modern (closed for holiday July 3rd)

Session 2 Senior division: July 6 - August 14th
yoga, pilates, ballet, modern, pointe, composition, musical theater, world dance, evening adult ballet

Session 2 Junior division:  July 13 - August 7th
ballet, modern composition, jazz, pre-ballet, ballet 1/2

Session 3 Senior division August 17 - August 28th
ballet, modern

Bill Evans/ Cornish Dance Teachers Intensive Sunday June 28th-Thursday July 2, 2009

Pedagogy for Teaching Children’s Dance July 19th, 4 - 8pm
