Naomi Glass

Adjunct Instructor

A native of Mercer Island, Washington, Naomi Glass trained at Cornish College of the Arts, San Francisco Ballet School and Houston Ballet Academy before joining Houston Ballet in 1994. In 1997, she was nominated by Ben Stevenson to represent Houston Ballet for the Princess Grace Award. Naomi enjoyed performing a variety of classical and neoclassical roles in works by Ben Stevenson, Stanton Welch, Jiri Kylian, Trey McIntyre, Nacho Duato, George Balanchine, William Forsythe, Lila York, Helgi Tomasson, Sir Kenneth MacMillan, Glen Tetley, and others. After retiring as a soloist in 2004, Naomi taught throughout the Houston dance community, including Houston Ballet Academy, served as ballet mistress for Houston Repertoire Ballet, and worked as adjunct faculty for four years at the University of Houston. Naomi has been a guest instructor for the Cornish College of the Arts, Trey McIntyre Project, University of Iowa, Hope Stone, Rice University, Wichita State University, and the American Dance Festival Association. Naomi graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science in interdisciplinary studies/education. Since relocating back to Washington in 2012, Naomi currently teaches in the Seattle/Eastside area, and is especially thrilled to be returning to teach at Cornish College of the Arts.
