Alumni Library Cards
Did you know that all Cornish alumni are entitled to free day use of the Cornish Library's on-site services? This includes asking reference questions. However, the Library is pleased to offer another service for alumni: borrowing privileges!
Registering for Borrowing Privileges
There is an annual registration fee of $50, to be renewed by May 1st. After November, new borrowers may register for a fee of only $25.
For more information about how to register for an alumni library card, please call, e-mail, or visit the library at its main central campus.

Circulation Policies
- Checkout Limit: No more than 25 items at a time. If you have 10 or more overdues, you can't check out anything else until they are returned.
- Renewals: Everything that circulates can be renewed if no requests or holds have been placed on the material by other borrowers. Renewals can be done in person, by phone or by email. You must provide your student ID number and the barcode number for each item you wish to renew. All library materials must be returned before your membership can be renewed.
- Recalls: If a student or faculty requests a library item(s) that is checked out to alumni it must be returned immediately, even if the item is not yet due. Failure to return library materials when recalled will result in a suspension of borrowing privileges.
- Overdues: There will be a .50 cent per day, per item overdue fee with a maximum of $25 dollars per item. However, borrowers are granted a grace period of three days after an item is overdue before fees begin to incur.
If you have more than ten overdue books you can't check out anything else until they are returned. Failure to return items or pay overdue fees will result in the suspension of Library privileges and withholding of academic degrees or transcripts. Formal collection procedures may also be pursued.
- How to pay fees. If you owe overdue fines or replacement fees, call the library during business hours to determine the amount. They will write up a fine memo, which may be e-mailed or mailed to your attention.
- If paying by a check. Enclose the memo and a check made out to Cornish College Library if mailing your fee. Send a check to: Librarian, Cornish College Library, 1000 Lenora Street, Seattle, WA 98121.
- If paying with credit or debit cards. You must pay in person or over the phone at the Cornish Cashier during business hours. Please make sure you bring the fee memo when paying in person. The cashier will stamp the memo as PAID. Bring the stamped memo to the library to clear your account.
Patron Responsibilities:
