Parking
Permits
All student vehicles parked on Cornish property, 8 am – 4 pm, weekdays (except holidays) must have a properly displayed and valid permit. The permit must be affixed to the lower left corner of the front windshield.Student Semester Permits
Student parking permits can be purchased from the Cashier, 9 am – 4 pm, weekdays.
Employee Semester Permits
Employees may sign up for a parking permit at Campus Safety and Security, 7:30 am – 5 pm, weekdays. Employees pay for their semester parking permits via monthly pre-tax payroll deduction.
Day Permits
These permits are available for guests, employees or students who wish to park on an occasional basis, 8 am – 4 pm, weekdays.
Employee Day Permits
7:30 – 9 am, Weekdays
9 am – 4 pm, Weekdays
Student and Guest Day Permits
7:30 – 9 am, Weekdays
9 am – 4 pm, Weekdays
Free Permits
Cornish issues a free "evening (after 4 pm), weekend and holiday" permit to employees and students who do not purchase a permit. This permit does not allow parking from 8 am – 4 pm, weekdays, the entire year.
Parking Lots
Cornish parking lots are for the use of employees, students and authorized visitors to the campus at all times. As Cornish is located in a downtown area with increasing pressure on its parking lots from adjoining businesses and residential units, it is necessary that Cornish restrict the use of its parking lots to people having direct business with the College.
Lot Assignments
Student Lot Assigments
The 7th and 8th Avenue Residence Hall parking lots are assigned to students 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. A limited number of Kerry Hall permits are also available; these permits are also applicable to the Residence Hall lots.
Employee Lot Assignments
Specific lots are assigned for the use of employees from 8 am – 4 pm, weekdays (except holidays).
Reserved Parking
Certain spaces are reserved for Cornish vehicles and/or specific officers of Cornish.
Scooters & Motorcycles
For the purpose of these regulations, motorcycles, motorized bicycles and scooters are considered to be motor vehicles and are subject to parking rules and regulations. Motorcycles, motorized bicycles and scooters must be parked in designated areas only. No parking permit is required.
Citation Appeal
Appeal Guidelines
- Appeals are only acceptable under verifiable mitigating circumstances.
- Appeals are not acceptable if the appellant does not have a valid permit at the time/date of ticket issuance.
- All parking facilities are clearly marked with signage that is enforced at all times.
- Filing an appeal with the Director of Campus Safety and Security does not guarantee the appeal will be granted.
- The Director of Campus Safety and Security or designee will review this appeal within 5 business days of receipt of the appeal and will notify the appellant of his/her decision. The appellant will have 5 business days to pay the ticket at the original penalty cost or the increased penalty will be assessed.
