To Be Brave: Ending Body Shame

Through July 30, 2014

The Hillman City Collaboratory [website]
5623 Rainier Avenue South , Seattle, WA

Many women have experiences of body shame and histories of eating disorders and sexual assault. "To Be Brave: Ending Body Shame" is a painting series by Chloe Allred (AR '13) that examines body shame through the stories of eleven women, including the artist's own story of violation and survival.

On July 26 please join Chloe at The Hillman City Collaboratory for the closing reception of "To Be Brave"! The night will include delicious food by Chef Ariella, an artist talk and Q and A with Chloe Allred, and a night of brave performers engaging with the topic of body shame in their given mediums: from music, to poetry, to dance.

Line Up includes:
Maiah M Manser (MU)
Sara Porkalob (TH)
Cecily Schuler
Matthew Reed (MU '13)
Elaina Ellis
and our wonderful MC for the evening will be Stacy Lynn Gilbert (TH '11)!

5:00pm - Gallery Opens/Meet-n-Greet
6:00pm - Artist Talk and Q and A with Chloe Allred
