Tenacious, driven, focused. These are the words I often hear when people describe me. It is hard to find individuals with such dedication and drive for their work. Anywhere and everywhere I go I am constantly thinking about design. No matter what I do, whether it is my specialty in graphic design or working my conventional job as a Kitchen Design Specialist, I put full effort into my work.
As a graphic designer, I love to challenge myself when I see an opportunity, like I did when designing the breast cancer campaign, titled LIVE PINK. The purpose of this project was to create a survivor kit that would support women coping with breast cancer and their strength for their will to live. The LIVE PINK survivor kit focuses on the emotional support using tangible representations of hope, strength, survivor and support. The survivor kit includes everything needed to grow a flower, which signifies the physical and emotional support needed for every survivor. This project was a great learning experience for me. As a woman, I was inspired to learn more about the psychological and biological aspects of breast cancer, including the fight and recovery from such a debilitating disease.
The LIVE PINK project is an example of how much time and pride I put into each project. I am very confident in myself and my work. When presented with an obstacle, I challenge myself in many ways. When I begin a project, I think to myself, this is the opportunity to grow as a designer and push myself in a new direction.
