I never wanted to grow up. Grown-ups to me seemed to forget the important things in life. Their reality became about taxes and bills and politics—things boring, depressing and capable of making people grow cynical. Without the ability to see wonder, people’s lives become harder and flatter. So, when I was younger I wished upon a star that I would never grow up. I wished there was a job where I could travel and impact people. I would have magic powers, and with one touch, all the grown-ups who had lost the ability to think like a child and to dream would become children again. What I would like to do with my illustrations is to allow children to feel like children a little longer and for adults to feel like kids again. My images are filled with goofy, cute, and silly characters intended to make people smile. Even if it’s just for a moment, everybody needs a taste of fairyland.
