We control very little in the scope of our lives. By
control I mean that which cannot be taken by another
person. In the end I could only think of the
personality of the individual and the integrity of
that individuality.
With that in mind I made this work about me, because
I believe that since each person is inherently
different, there is no speaking for them. Thus the
only person I can speak for is myself.
To do this, I created a series about memory, an
integral part of a personality. I decided to do so
through photography and painting because they are
documentary media, proving events occurred and people
existed. Through the use of frames, hands, simple
imagery, and texture, I have shown three things, that
these are my memories, how precious that is, and how
painful they can be.
