The overarching utility of objects and our expectation of function primarily defines the way we value and how we generally respond to objects. My artwork is focused on manipulating the aesthetics of function to rearrange cultural assumptions that define our relationship with the utilitarian objects we surround ourselves with. Ephraim’s work has been exhibited at the Delaware Museum of Art, Delaware Center for Contemporary Art, Arlington Art Center, Abington Art Center, District of Columbia Arts Center, St. Joseph’s University, Moore College of Art and Design, Vertex List, Williamsburg, NY, and the University of Lincoln, Lincoln, UK. Northwest exhibits have included the Tacoma Art Museum, Consolidated Works, The James Harris Gallery and survey exhibits The Best Coast and Lava 2002. Ephraim received his B.F.A. in Sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University and an MFA in Sculpture from Tyler School of Art.
