Join director Heather Dew Oaksen (AR faculty), producer Caroline Cumming, and the cast of the feature documentary for the premiere of Minor Differences tonight, Thursday, Oct 11 at 7:30pm at the Northwest African American Museum. The film follows five former juvenile offenders for nearly two decades providing an intimate view of their journeys to maturity. Their first-hand accounts of their lives and dreams, their humor, and their insights, make us question the wisdom of condemning them at such young ages, and treating them as if this is who they always will be. Over the next 18 years, we see how their lives have gone.

In unforgettable interviews, the men grow in ways no one could have foreseen. The leads of the film, Andres, Casey, Joe and Matt, now men in their 30s, will attend the screening to take questions. The evening will also offer Proliferation, an animated mapping of the US Prison system set to original music by artist Paul Rucker and a dance performance by Kagaka Lua Entertainment, dedicated to promoting Pacific Islander Heritage through cultural dance, music and workshops.

Tickets are $10, available online through Brown Paper Tickets, (800-838-3006) and at the door.
