Art Faculty Dawn Cerny - Artist on the Go

Dawn Cerny will be found all over the Seattle area this fall, beginning with “The rug pulled out from underneath; you lie on the floor” at the Hedreen Gallery in the Lee Center for the Arts at Seattle University. She has a piece in a new publication by La Norda Specialo that will be published in honor of Jeffry Mitchell’s retrospective at Henry Art Gallery. She will also have work in at Soil Gallery and Greg Kucera Gallery and will be exhibiting work at Short Run at the Vera Project.

Co-curated by artists Dawn Cerny and Shaw Osha, the exhibition posits that the feminine is not an individual trait but rather a mobile gesture that exceeds gender. This exhibition asks questions about how we, as makers and viewers, understand states of knowing, perceiving and unknowing.
Opening: Nov. 1, 6-9 pm. Runs through Dec. 1
Handbound explores the creative process of Short Run exhibiting artists through a combination of original art, sketches, ephemera and books. It’s high-brow, low-brow and everything in between.
