Ernest Rhoads elected to Design Board
Ernest (Ernie) Rhoads [DE’89] has been elected to the National Council for Interior Design Qualification Board of Directors in WA, D.C.
Ernie Rhoads graduated from Cornish in 1989 and has since risen to the top of his profession, being elected to the board of the National Council for Interior Design Qualification. As a board member of the NCIDQ, Rhoads will help define what it means to be a competent interior designer.
The importance of the NCIDQ’s mission may not be obvious at first. The organization is responsible for the safety and welfare of all who use the public spaces created by the designers for whom it provides credentials. Toward this end, the council provides a professional examination process.
Rhodes’ has been involved with the NCIDQ for quite some time. During the time he was serving as the chair/founder of the Interior Design Coalition of Washington State, he also served as a volunteer for NCIDQ as a Cut-Score Study participant, a member of the Exam Practicum Committee and a grader, with service on the NCIDQ Board of Director as an interim Director in 2008.
Ernest Rhoads is a facilities planner for the Shared Services Group of The Boeing Company. Along with his B.F.A. from Cornish, he holds an M.B.A. with a management emphasis and an M.S. in Information Systems Management, both from Seattle Pacific University. In addition he has earned the Boeing Leadership Certificate. Ernest has an ongoing blog at “Healthcare Design Magazine” and his latest publication can be read in “The State of the Interior Design Profession,” Fairchild Books, NewYork, NY 2010.
