Saint Genet performs Paradisiacal Rites (June 10-14) at Toronto’s Luminato Festival; Miroir Magazine delves into their process and philosophy with Instincts of Trust: Derrick Ryan Claude Mitchell and Saint Genet.
The New Animals latest performance, “Ego, Dismantled” took place on May 28 at Seattle art space TMRW PARTY. Featuring the design work of Charles Spitzak (AR ’10), Estee Clifford (AR ’10), Eric Eugene Aguilar (AR), Pia Johns and Sean B. Cormack (DA) and the performing talents of Sarah Lustbader (DA ’10), Melanie Ann, Ryan Vinson, Victoria Jacobs, Georgio-Armani Pacheco (DA ’17) and artistic director Markeith Wiley (DA).
Congratulations to Beth Fleenor (MU ’04) on receiving one of the first-ever Millay Colony of the Arts residencies. The residency will take place this fall in upstate New York.
Josh Rawlings (MU ’05), Evan Flory-Barnes, and Jeremy Jones of The Teaching released their newest album, Birds in Flight, this past month (May 2014). Find digital copies of the album on Bandcamp and physical copies at Kunaki.
Congratulations to Emily White (TH ’03) AKA Emilia Javanica on her acceptance into the 10 month long Creative Community Fellows program at National Arts Strategies, where she will be developing a project tentatively dubbed the Artoit Art Bus.
