The Campaign for Cornish shepherds Cornish into the next century with the development of a vibrant urban campus that creates sustained support for academic excellence through a growing endowment and the finest learning and working environment for students, faculty and staff.
Endowment
A strong and growing endowment allows us to attract the best and brightest students regardless of economic standing, competitively recruit top faculty in multiple fields, host influential leading artists in special programs and residencies, and continue to support the operational needs of our urban campus.
Endowed funds provide a lasting source of support for these programs and initiatives:
- Student Scholarship

Campus Development
Performing Arts Complex
The Performing Arts Complex completes the unification of the new campus by relocating the Dance and Music Departments from our historic home on Capitol Hill. The Complex will be built as a combined renovation/new construction project. The new facility will feature spacious and light-filled studios for dance, as well was acoustically sophisticated spaces for the practice and presentation of music.
Main Campus Center Gallery
The Gallery serves as the focal point for exhibition on the Cornish campus. We host professionally curated shows year-round, including the annual BFA Art + Design Show, featuring Cornish students, faculty, alumni and special guests. The existing Gallery will be expanded as the Sculpture Program moves to the new Visual Arts Complex.
Visual Arts Complex
The Visual Arts Complex is the new home for the Sculpture Program and Art Department Senior Studios. The current building will be renovated and transformed into a facility that invites artists to explore freely with material, form and scale. It will also be the central venue for one of the most exciting artistic events at Cornish, the annual BFA Show, featuring the work of the graduating seniors in Art and Design.
Notion Building
This historic building will be renovated to provide much-needed classroom space to support the curricular and academic priorities of our expanded campus. This expansion includes the development of a new media arts space – a dedicated environment for study and practice within the mediums of film, video and multimedia technology.
Main Campus Center
The center of campus life, this building is home to the Art, Design, Performance Production and Theater Departments. It is also home to the College administrative offices, the library, the Cornish Main Gallery and Nellie’s Café.
Main Campus Center Annex
The Annex extends the academic life of the Main Campus Center by providing additional multi-use classrooms for all departments.
Raisbeck Performance Hall
The former Sons of Norway Hall houses dedicated classroom, rehearsal and performance space for the Theater Department, featuring the 100-seat Ned and Kayla Skinner Theater.
